Sweet Tooth Saturday.

So my bestie went to New York a few weekends ago. While she was there she stopped in to Trader Joe’s to have a look around. Despite the fact that she hates peanut butter, which I still don’t understand, she picked up a box of cookies for me try since I love chocolate and peanut butter.

These were so good! I’ve been snacking on them ever since I got them. I’ve even shared a few and everyone loves them.

While looking through cooking blogs I always see the things they are able to get from Trader Joe’s, but since I’m in Canada I usually miss out. So please Trader Joe’s come to Canada! Or at the very least open a store closer to the boarder of Michigan so that I can try more of your products!

Have you ever been to a Trader Joe‘s? If so what is your favourite thing to get from there? Or if you are Canadian like me what is your favourite place to grocery shop here? I like Sobeys and Real Canadian Superstore best.

Late Night Snacking.

Berries, especially strawberries, in the summer are so amazing. I could eat them all day, everyday. The only thing missing for me is pineapple!

What is your favourite fruit to snack on?

What I Want to Bake.

I’ve really wanted to make some new recipes lately but the summer heat has decided to appear earlier than it should so it’s been ridiculously hot here lately. Too hot to turn on the oven for dinner so baking is really out of the question. Here are a few recipes I would like to try out once the humidity drops a bit.

Photo Source: Links to all recipes and blogs below.

1. Recipe and photo from Baking Bites. I’ve actually made these before several times and they are amazing. They are S’more Cookie Bars and if you bring them anywhere be prepared to be asked for the recipe.

2. Recipe and photo from For the Love of Cooking. I’ve never made this before but I love anything with oatmeal in it and the frosting looks delicious. Oatmeal Cake with Coconut Pecan Frosting.

3. Recipe and photo from Our Best Bites. These Glazed Lemon Bars look super simple to make, always a plus.

4. Recipe and photo from Kraft Canada. These Lemon-Blueberry Crumb Bars look great and easy to make since it uses a boxed cake mix.

5. Recipe and photo from Our Best Bites. I love muffins and blueberries always work well in muffins. These Streusel-Topped Blueberry Muffins look like mini coffee cakes and look like they would be great as a treat for breakfast or work well as a dessert too.

6. Recipe and photo from Cookie Madness. I have made these Creamy Lemon Blueberry Bars many times before as well. They are also always a recipe I get asked for. Another perfect way to show how lemon and blueberries are meant to be together.

7. Recipe and photo from Family Food and Fun. I love bars and anything that has candy in the name has to make for a delicious one. Candy Bar-Cookie Bars look like a homemade chocolate bar.

8. Recipe and photo from Sweet Pea’s Kitchen. I love Butterfingers so naturally these Butterfinger Blondies had me drooling. I think these might be better for me to make after Halloween when we always seem to have a bunch of miniature Butterfinger bars left over.

9. Recipe and photo from Recipe Girl. I don’t think I even need to explain why someone who loves chocolate and peanut butter combined would be drawn to these. Add to the fact that there is s’mores also involved and it’s a no brainer. These Peanut Butter S’more Turnovers look amazing! I really want to make these for my nephew, I’d probable have to hose him down afterward though.

Clearly the warmer weather makes me crave lemon and blueberry flavoured treats. Looking at all of these has made me hungry so I’m off to find something to snack on. What have you been wanting to bake or cook lately? Any good recipes you always seem to make in the summer?

The Hangover: Part 2.

This weekend I went to see The Hangover Part 2 with a big group of friends. I think it’s safe to say that if you liked the first one you will like this one as well. The entire theater was laughing hysterically throughout the entire movie.

Stumbled Upon It Saturday.

I stumbled on this through my Pinterest feed. It made me smile and nod quite a lot as I read it so I thought I’d pass it along. I’ve highlighted the ones that I really agree with.

Truths for Mature Humans:

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighbourhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection…again.

13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this – ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

20. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.

21. Sometimes, I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?

26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?

29. There’s no worse feeling than that millisecond you’re sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

31. Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey – but I’d bet my *** everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!
